A CENTARIAN WHO RAN MARATHONS

The 113-year-old Dharam Pal Gudha is a veteran marathon runner

The 113-year-old Dharam Pal Gudha is a veteran marathon runner. Belonging to a small town, Mawana, in Uttar Pradesh, he has remained unstoppable for all these years. All his age-group are long dead, he, relentlessly, runs daily.

He’s competitive, challenged another centenarian, Fauja Singh, a runner from Toronto.

Where does he get that kind of energy that makes him a running machine even at this age?  His ability to run at this ripe age defies all conventional logic. Dharampal believes his source of energy is from within; a healthy life and a normal diet help. The self-made chatni, a concoction of various herbs, is his magic potion.
